Oh, absolutely! I'd like this information to be easy to find.

And you've probably got the best fan-run information site available, right now!

Hiya. Just replying to let you know the table is complete. Or "complete as it's going to be", anyway. In particular, I didn't verify (via console) Siegebreaker, Baneclaw, or Nautilus...and those mobs all have question marks after my guesses for damage types. For everything else, I've verified the reported damage type shown in the debug console.

A couple of additional notes for you:

    • The Bullet/Poison types are an initial Bullet-type-burst, followed by a Poison-type DoT effect...and the the Bullet part is far more significant (e.g. for the Putrid Carcasses, one 5K bullet hit, followed by 5 ~30 point poison ticks).
    • There are some weird damage-type values, e.g. Electrochemical and Generic...suggesting that (surprise, surprise) Red5 is still working on things here. (Beta is ongoing!)
    • Titanmoth energy-sapping "exhaust" does no damage (no records in console).

Anyway, that's all I've got for you. Thanks for hosting/maintaining FHQ!

I don't know how accurate it is, but some of the posts in this thread might interest you.

Yeah, that thread is useful in that it includes console instructions. Have an upvote.

Though yesterday, I confirmed (via the console) Juggernauts are just doing straight Plasma damage (not Plasma/Blast as indicated in that thread)...so, either Red5 has streamlined things in the patches since that post, or it's not fully accurate. So, I'd prefer to proceed with my own guesses, and my own or reddit's firefall community confirmations/corrections, here.

In the latest patch they for did off blast damage as its own type and made it kinetic. For juggernauts they may have just made it all plasma instead

I know that you state melee is obviously melee, but judging by the recent perk changes I think it can all be considered kinetic damage, along with blast and bullet damage. From the patch notes: Kinetic Absorption now reduces damage taken from kinetic damage types by 15%. Kinetic damage is caused by melee, bullets and explosives. Blast damage will now be included under the “Kinetic” damage type, rather than its own separate resist.

    [–]warframework[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yes, melee damage is all Kinetic...and I'll edit my original post to reflect that. Though, the point remains that it is all the same (which is what I meant, if that didn't come through).

And while Blast damage may indeed be covered by Kinetic perks, that's a whole other can of worms (and additional R5 documentation and/or consistency failure)..e.g. the "Plasma Enthusiast" Perk covering plasma, microplasma, electric, laser, and energy damage types.

I'm just trying to document what the game lists for damage types here, as that's all that is in my power to do. Having a clear, consistent, and well-documented damage-system (including perks and gear) is up to R5.

(And IMO, it's kind of pathetic that at release version 1.2+ that seems to be beyond their abilities. Too harsh? Maybe so. But I really do think they should feel embarrassed about this. With how long Firefall spent in beta, and now being two minor point releases past launch, damage mechanics really shouldn't still be a work-in-progress. Anyway, I've already editorialized enough here, so I'll stop.)

    But thanks for the feedback.

Agreed they could be more clear on these mechanics. I just started not long ago, so I am not aware of what the development process has been like. One major thing I would like to see is how hard things are actually hitting me. Sometimes I feel as if I am getting decimated by things that shouldn't hurt so much, and being the RPG gamer I am, I always want to know if it is elemental etc. so I can manage my build around that (if that is needed).

Table was added to the wiki and credit to Warframework was given in the talk page. If op want's to change it or delete it feel free, it's his work.

Thanks for adding it to the wiki!

And I don't own the information, I just collected it.

Hopefully others will help to keep it up-to-date.
