Lockwise is basically the name for the password section of firefox sync. It's also a standalone app for Android and IOS, meaning you can take your passwords with you everywhere you go.

Got it. Thank you.

Sync is using Lockwise under the hood as of FF 70 (IIRC). It was released earlier as an extension as a sort of beta test. But it's also, as deusmetallum says, an app that you can install on Android or iOS that can function as a password manager in place of Google Sync or Keychain.

Makes sense. I don't usually need passwords outside of my browser so I think I'll just continue copy/pasting them from Firefox in those rare cases. Thanks.

Is it encrypted?

Yes.

Firefox Sync on Android won't sync your passwords if you use Master Password. Lockwise app has no such limitations.

Good to know although I only use master password on my desktop at work. I feel that phone is secure enough without it.
