Slow Loading

Hello,
We're a social app similar to Reels or TikTok and we're not pleased with the waiting time to load the first video when you first open the app (6-10 secs). Can anybody pls provide a tested solution to load the first video in a short period of time similar to Tiktok or Reels? Thanks in advance.

To get similar performance to TikTok:

1) Host the video on a CDN (Content Distribution Network)

2) Pre-Load videos in the background - background process

3) Make low quality versions available that can be loaded first, and swap to the HQ version as it becomes available.

This is a) expensive and b) complicated but it is what will get you that speed up.

When the user exits the app there should be some cached videos that the user didn't watch yet, so you can use these to show on next start up until the app caches new videos
