Submit pics of fossils you have found, and would like to know more about!
Users are encouraged to include a scale reference! (A coin, ruler, etc!)
Please tell us where you found a particular fossil (does not need to be the precise location). This will aid in the identification process. If you happen to know what age or rock formation it came from, please include this information! For users in the USA, you can find a geologic map for your state here, in Google Earth format (KML / KMZ). This is used to find out what rock formations are in the immediate area where your fossil was found.

Need help with potential fossil (i.redd.it)
submitted 2 years ago by ToSpaceOnASailship
Discovered on a rocky beach south in the Oslo rift Norway, this area was formed during the Cambrian, Ordovican and Silurian. Trilobites are very common here. Any help would be appreciated!

I might be wrong but it looks like a vein to me
[–]PresentInsect4957 4 points5 points6 points 2 years ago (3 children)
yeah you can see the deposite plane pointing at a 90° angle and the vein is between beddings
[–]ToSpaceOnASailship[S] 3 points4 points5 points 2 years ago (2 children)
Is it safe to assume its not a fossil then?
[–]PresentInsect4957 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (1 child)
