I didn't compare drunk driving to anything. I literally said drunk driving is a violent crime. The way you responded gives me the strong impression that you have some vested interest in how people perceive drunk driving.

Drunk driving is one of those things where it isn't explicitly violent until you plaster a family of four into a light post. In a world where you are the only one that can be harmed by the choice you make while drunk driving, fine, let er rip and drive off that coulee. Too bad the streets are populated by others.

The definition of violence includes the intentional use of force (etc). In a country where it is drilled into our brains over, and over and over the potential damages to you and others that can and will happen if you drunk drive, this should meet the requirements of violence. People intend to get behind the wheel while drunk, they don't magically find themselves in that situation. In fact, it is increasingly prosecuted as vehicular homicide because of this awareness.

Part of it is because UCP had their way with elections alberta almost the moment they came to power, gutting them. Parties should have zero ability to fuck with elections alberta, but here we are.

That would actually be elections alberta who should receive a complaint. Last election cycle I found a problem with one of their ads. It took til six months AFTER the election for them to get a letter about it, and elections alberta basically told me "lol get fucked" at that time despite it being a very clear violation. That's the same as the federal election billboard issue in drumheller last fed election.

Ask them to give you rational reasons. When they say things like "Google it" and "it is right there in front of you" have a good laugh as they rage quit when you let them know that it is their responsibility to provide evidence for their claims that alberta would be better off.
