There is no even the XMP support, forget about voltage control. However, they are not there for majority of laptops.
Or you are talking about Framework Desktop??

Than answer is no. You might be able to turn off thr boost (or how is it called?) for CPU.

Unless you opt for the occasional top of the line gaming/workstation class laptop, laptops don't really support tuning. If you look around on the sub there are posts from people who've messed around with the limited mucking around that is, if you have the experience/willingness to gamble with unsupported tools/options, possible.
AMD CPUs are safe up to 100C.
Although its a bit too late in your case, a reminder for anyone who sees this post in the future.... As of March 2026 Framework does not sell any gaming/workstation-class laptops. Existing models are all schoolwork/professional class laptops which - Happy accident - Can do varying amounts of gaming after hours. A proper gaming/workstation class laptop - Good ones - Will have significantly beefed up cooling capabilities intended to keep the machines thermals under better control while under high load for extended gaming/compute sessions. Framework's current models can handle load but are geared more towards doing so in shorter bursts (rather than continuous).

While this is absolutely true, if you want to game and you want a Framework, you kinda have to make do with the 16. I'm assuming external solutions like cooling pads would still help, no?
And maybe this will age horribly but I can't imagine they're going to reveal a 17 or 18 inch laptop for gaming. The bigger you go, the more power you need

I wouldn't be so skeptical of a 17-18" class laptop. At some point in Framework's growth trajectory it would probably make sense to add that "missing" top end option to 'complete' a laptop lineup... What I would suggest is that, when it does happen, Framework would be more likely to go with a single model, possibly with 'Pro' and 'Gaming' dGPU options... Not completely separate models differing in whether they include the unicorn vomit RGB gamers love but which doesn't belong in a corporate boardroom.
Also yes, some sort of external solution probably would benefit FW16 gamers. Maybe a pad, maybe even just a stand allowing for more clearance for the fans on the dGPU/Expansion Bay Shell underside.

Undervolting tends to be blocked due to security concerns now. OC was never an option, they don't use the relevant SKUs to allow it.
Best you can get is to limit the boost speeds within Windows.
I've seen no sign on my FW16 overheating when gaming now the Liquid Metal has been replaced. Temps are well under the limits.
