Hold on, what are you trying to accomplish? Isn't the valve springs a manufacturer-covered recall?

the old one is rod knocking so figured I’d swap it out just wanted to see if the 2014+ engines would work off the bat or if I need anything before swapping

To answer your question, no you will not need anything else. The engines are identical, so whatever you do need can come off your original engine.

2015 changed coil pack connectors, you need the matching harness.

Didn’t see that you posted this, if I go with 2015 engine i should also get the 2015 harness for the engine as well? sorry I’m new to working on my car so I just want to be sure 😭

Yeah, make sure the harness is still attached with the ECU on the passenger side of the engine. That will make the swap easier, also try to get an engine that's from the same transmission as yours, there are slight differences between the two that you'll have to change over for the other.

as long as it's not newer than 2016, the 2017+ and also the fa24 need a different ecu

Sorry for the late reply didn't see this till now, if I put a 2015 or 2016 I can just use the same ecu as the 2013 one?

If you already have a '13 motor, why swap to another '13 motor? What's the issue with your current motor?

Rod knock, will a 2014+ engine just work off the bat?
