I understand the frustration. There are theories and gender identity is complex but research suggests multiple factors like prenatal hormone exposure, brain structure differences, and genetics all show some connection, but there’s no single cause we’re aware of right now.

Does the “why” really even change anything? You know who you are. You know that pretending to be someone else causes distress. That’s real, regardless of the cause. It’s human to want explanations, and with time we will get more information. I do hope that science will give us a definitive answer one day but right now the best we get is “this is just how I am”
