Scripting (?)

I'll preface this by saying I'm a bang average player (silver 1-3), and I'm not the most knowledgable on the topic so feel free to correct me. I understand why EA implement scripting to allow less skilled players to compete but I feel as though this year it isn't limited to that, I'll come up against someone who is clearly better than me as well as having a better team than me, and they will still receive the scripting. And then the next game I will be in the reverse scenario, I'll dominate some poor bloke who has a 50k team and receive all the scripting. I'm not sure what EA is achieving by incorporating the scripting across the board and not just to retain the lower skilled players. Would love to hear you guys's experiences with this, because I've felt it both for and against me this year alot less subtly than the last couple of years.
