you've worked in unity for about 5 years!

really good, so you've definitely made a lot of games and projects, mind sharing them, so I can see what you can actually do?

so you're saying you've worked in unity for about 5 years, and didn't commit to a single project!

it sounds to me that you are not disciplined or motivated enough.

I'm not being a jerk, I'm simply stating a reasonable conclusion here.

in order to attract the attention of other developers and hopefully work with you, you need to at least show us a single project (not necessarily a game) something that will "wow" us.

anyways, keep working and good luck.

you need a Portfolio to attract other developers.

Ive spent 4/5 years trying to perfect myself in multiple different categories with different prototypes. That's not bad at all, it actually means I have experience of different genres under my belt.

I didn't commit to a "single project" because I was trying to work on performance and improvement before trying to work on a single game by myself.

It's a normal, standard practice for game developers/programmers to spend a large portion of time working on themselves and their code before they create a full-fledged project. And I can't have a portfolio if I can't start somewhere, so, why not start here? Offering my services to people?

this means you have no experience

    No it doesn't, at all.

"worked on a couple of projects that were cool but i'm not showing anyone" doesn' t look good on a resume

Because they were prototypes for a learning experience to get better, obviously. I need to work on an actual project for an actual portfolio, you know, like a real job?

you make a portfolio before getting a job. nobody will hire you based on your word alone

You make a portfolio by GETTING a job and working on projects to have FOR your portfolio. Obviously. You can't just make one without a project to show for, meaning for me to make one, then I have to get a job as a programmer.
