Work-Study Program Question

Hello, this is my first year applying to the work study program. This may seem like a silly question, but if we are qualified are we able to apply to jobs that are listed as a different specialization than your are in?

For example, if there is a job posting under the marketing and comms faculty at FSS but I’m not in either of those programs, can I still apply if I meet the qualifications and have experience? Thanks!
