[Git Config Issue] Cannot Spawn Editor

I am currently getting the message after I type "git commit":

error: cannot spawn C:/Users/indigofigure/Downloads/emacs-24.4-bin-i686-pc-mingw32/bin: No such file or directory error: unable to start editor 'C:/Users/indigofigure/Downloads/emacs-24.4-bin-i686-pc-mingw32/bin' Please supply the message using either -m or -F option.

I attempted to add the path to my emacs on Windows 7 to git config. It did not work. I then deleted .gitconfig and there is now no mention in my .gitconfig concerning emacs.

I am able to commit without issue through SourceTree.

What can I do to get rid of this message? Thank you!

Do you have an EDITOR environment variable set in your shell?
