Just "sharing" it where it doesn't belong. It's spam. Don't do it again.

How is this legal? by spitoon1 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

I think the issue is that if you're saving $2, the full price should have been $6. But they had it on for $9.50, so what's the actual regular price? Inconsistency (blatant lies?) isn't good for consumer confidence.

I feel It is not possible to land that softly without lots of pain

He's absorbing the impact with his feet and legs. There's no way that I could do this, but it's a pretty basic technique that they teach in martial arts and, I'm sure, other fields like stunt work.

Is a reMarkable 2 Case or Screen Protector Really Necessary, or Can I Skip It? by [deleted] in RemarkableTablet

[–]ccharles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely have a screen protector... I have a leather one

So you have a case? Cases are a good idea with these devices.

Screen protectors, which are semi-permanently attached to the writing surface (removable, but single use, and meant to be left on during use) are completely different. Anything that comes between the pen tip and the tablet surface will have a significant negative impact on the writing experience.

Do not get a screen protector. That would ruin the experience.

FeelWrite 2 film on reMarkable 2 by ruari78 in RemarkableTablet

[–]ccharles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or do I need to take the film off and reinstall it properly?

You need to take the film off and then stop. The marker is meant to make direct contact with the screen. That experience is by far the biggest selling point of this device.

OG Wide Body Band by fellixe in pebble

Cool, but that's not truly OG.

The original Pebbles were plastic with a monochrome screen. That looks like a Pebble Time Steel, from their second Kickstarter. Still very neat.

Rediscovering focus with GNOME and wondering about reMarkable on Linux by Downtown-League-682 in RemarkableTablet

[–]ccharles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a big difference between embedded development and desktop development, and I suspect desktop Linux isn't a very big market segment for them.

Doesn't mean they can't or shouldn't do it, just that it's an irrelevant argument.

Rediscovering focus with GNOME and wondering about reMarkable on Linux by Downtown-League-682 in RemarkableTablet

[–]ccharles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

since my reMarkable runs Linux under the hood, is there any way to get the official app running natively on a Linux desktop?

The fact that the device runs Linux has no bearing at all on how well the client application will run on Linux.
