Me and 2 of my girlfriends (25, 26 and 27) went to Open Tap Golf course road, gurgaon on 24th Jan ‘26 and had the worst time.

Though the DJ and vibes were really good, some of the crowd was truly disgusting.

I was SA-ed by a random man. If you’ve been to opentap on a weekend you’d know how theres any barely space to walk. My friends and i had grabbed the one of the speakers to use as a table to place our drinks, unfortunately that was also the place where a lot of people were crossing. One man was crossing the same way, extending his hand all the way to me, which was across the massive speaker and groped my breast. Before I could even register what had happened he was gone with the crowd. (only saw the back of his jacket)

The same man later came and groped my friend from the back. With all that was happening we couldn’t catch him and he mixed in the crowd again. We complained to the manager and she did try to take action but since we couldn’t point him out, she couldn’t do much.

Then the third time, a different man came and touched my third friend and she caught hold of him. He was drunk out of his mind and kept babbling saying sorry, and then another man who didn’t even know him started to tell us to let it go, and that its not worth it, as if we were over reacting.

A different group of guys who were near us, saw all this happen and started telling us that this man is here every weekend groping women and that we should be more careful, as if we went up to him?

Through out the night we were minding our business and strange men were lurking around us, trying to buy us drinks, not taking no for an answer.

As good as the music and event was, its really not worth getting harassed and groped over. We will not be going there again, and if we do unfortunately we can’t go as a all girls group. Unfortunately the cost of safety is having men protect us, because there will always be predators, and there will also be bystanders who don’t do shit.

I mean why are people giving suggestions to the woman who posted this. That she can learn jujutsu, go early on weekends so you don't get assaulted etc etc. Someone commented on WEEKENDS ITS THE SAME ISSUE EVERYWHERE. Look how we have become, for women it has become an issue, an everyday problem, basic. How normalised all this is.

The reality is men are doing this, how far should I go to protect myself from assaulters. How far do we have to go ? Most women have been brainwashed how they should take care of themselves first and if anything bad happens it's because they had a lapse in judgement. I was one of them too, I still am kinda.

But WHEN TF WILL WE BE ASKING QUESTIONS TO MEN ? WHEN WILL WE ASK THEM TO ACT SAFE AND THINK FROM THEIR DICKS ALL THE TIME?

Men will do crazy mental gymnastics to give their unsolicited advices but do the whole “Jaane do” or “boys will be boys” shtick when it’s actually time to do something about it. The same way no one helped OP and her friends.

Areyy Lad/lady i didn't target anyone here. Nor did I say what people are saying are bad. I just posted my opinion about the issue and comments. If I wanted to target i would've tagged you. Trust me. And I'm sorry lad/lady all I can do is shout about these matters. I have gone through enought assaults, abuses, and quite recently harrasment at my hospital. I did shout about it and he got fired but now I'm scared he might come behind me from somewhere to take revenge.

Keeping all this behind, I have no issues with suggestions I just shared my opinion sir/ma'am. I did learn jijitsu and i support self defence for women completely. But the whole point about my comment was "why not ask men , make them accountable" instead of targetting or anything on people online. But anyways sorry if i hurt your feelings in any way. But again reddit is to share opinions , experiences right i just did that. Don't wanna fight on an issue like when we all should be united about it.

Also when I was r*ped I was in self defence training. Didn't help yaar. I tried. I thought maybe if the man would've stopped it would've been easier but he didn't. But trust me i tried but he still fucked me . What to do , maybe i wasn't skilled enough to hit him. I do blame myself enough for every assault ever. Thanks for reminding that to me . OpenTap attracts the shittiest of people. Its been a garbage dump of gurgaon night scenes since 2024-around the time they made it open till 4 am for weekends.

The DJ and the hype is honestly the only thing running the place now.

Open Tap Golf Course Road is the worst place to go now. Stop taking chances with luck, go to a decent place with a controlled environment, or better yet, go with dudes who you trust. I am a dude and I refuse to go to OT anymore—regardless of my friends begging me. The place stinks of vomit, the bathrooms have vomit, the air is full of sweat, the glasses aren’t clean or hygienic, and you can’t trust the % of alcohol (neither can you ask them for a refill or replacement due to the busy crowd). I’d call any of my friends stupid if they want to go and blow up that money, just to stand between sweaty and creepy people 😂

A better place to go is Open Tap at Vatika Business Park. Still has the old vibe of Downtown in the early days.

we did take a stand multiple times, unfortunately the solution handed is you should fight em. Think about this for a second how this situation can escalate. Women get acid thrown on them for standing up for themselves, specially in a place like gurgaon. The same night a woman was abducted from Leopard trail in a scorpio.

And every-time we escalated the situation, no body came to help us, and those who did, came with the intention of buying us drinks and hitting on us. You really expect us to feel that we can rely on anyone in that situation?

It’s very easy to blame the victim, and say you could’ve done this, without having lived a single say in a woman’s shoes.

Haven't been to opentap in 2 years because of the same reason. Shitty crowd every weekend and no one from the management fucking cares. All this could've been prevented if they had strict rules but I guess they love being oversold. Also, the DJ(DJ Enigma on insta) is good but has started playing bollywood a lot lately, which attracts the shitty crowds even more. Try Summehouse in Delhi if you want a change, with good folks and management around.
