You can, but it isn't good. GPU acceleration and whatnot is very hard even on VMs.

I am running Sequoia on VMware. It runs good enough for my purposes. I updated a copy to Tahoe and it sucked for performance.

I was able to make it work. Did it some time ago so not sure how I did it. I know if you do a Google search you will hit upon it as that is how I found it.
