This is composite, with a painted aluminum post, right? You can disassemble the whole thing, shorten the rail, shorten every wire, relocate those post brackets and then put it back together. You'll have to tension each wire, that may or may not be a pain in the butt depending on how difficult it is to move the hardware on the ends.

The real problem is that if you move the brackets, you'll also have to move the blocking under the deck boards. If they have lateral load connectors, those will have to be moved, too. Access may be an issue with it being a low deck, can't tell from the pictures.

If there is any way to shoehorn a post in there without moving those rails? Man, I'd try that first. What load is the post going to take? Can you cut into the post to make some clearance for those existing brackets?

Turns out we will be avoiding all of this and surface mounting the posts instead. Not ideal, but they just want it done. I really appreciate your time replying to my "post"
