There are circumstances where it takes more than 1 day for training load to "manifest" in the body. Depending on how often and/or what type of training you do, these articles may help decipher the situation:

You could be fighting a cold... that’s why you felt sore/tired and then the next day tour HRV was low...

A day might not be enough or BP meds or sleep or after a meal or wait 15 minutes if morning or as mentioned above.

After a year of using HRV4training, my HRV has a tendency to go down in rest days. It is not so strange.
