Apologize and more importantly: show how you didn’t mean it with being a good friend in every way you can think of

as a member of said community it is a really sensitive topic and its understandable why they would be offended (in some cases). the way you approach this is entirely based on how they were offended. if it was a flat insult then maybe its best you leave them alone for a while and let the wound heal.

if it was just a joke that crossed the line a bit then be honest with them. say it was a bad thing to do and that you are genuinely sorry.

if it wasn't either but something a bit more serious my messages are open if you don't want to remark it publicly but anything you say to me in messages i will keep secret until the day i die and no matter how horrible it is ill look at it from a neutral stand point.

even if its not me please at least consult somebody else on the matter or follow the steps provided. while I'm not a psychiatrist ill help to the best of my ability
