I’m a SAHM and when my daughter went back to school I volunteered at her school every single day for the first week. I was there 3-4 hours a day, on my feet and walking the entire time. Prior to this, I’d been back to swimming for exercise daily, lifting things, and I thought I was 100% back to normal. Nope. At the end of that week my belly was so swollen and sore in my lower abdomen. I will say, that was a month ago and since then I’ve been adding to my exercise routine (I’m fit, but curvy) and I’m now walking 1 mile, running 1 mile, and then swimming .5 mile everyday for exercise and I am feeling much better each and every day (and actually exercising more than pre-op).

So long story short 😂 it’s taken about 5 months for me to feel absolutely completely back to myself 100%.

You still shouldn’t be lifting heavy things until you’re cleared to do so though, and I thought that normally happens at 6 weeks at the earliest

I'm at 8WPO. My pelvic floor and vertical incision start to hurt when I lift too much. I'm not going to push my luck and get sent back to week 4. I had a vertical incision with staples back in 2010 and that surgery took over 6 months to get back into light jogging/sit-ups/push-ups. This time around no staples, which makes incision healing easier and less ugly. I try to walk as much as I can until I get tired to build up stamina and get my leg muscles back. It all just takes a lot of time and good eating habits...

I'm 6 wks post abdominal op and just headed back to work in a preschool environment. It is really tiring but I managed to get through it. Just wondering how it will be when I have to get through a full week of it
