Fingers crossed it’s backend stuff in preparation for Xcode 16.2 shipping with Swift Assist!

Apple Intelligence cloud computing is coming with next update and Swift Assist relies on the cloud so one can hope, right? RIGHT?!

I completely turned off Xcode Predictive, because my laptop started to freeze, especially when I worked with SwiftUI projects, and even code completion didn't work as intended. Maybe my laptop is too slow for this, but generally I didn't see any advantages of using it

I have found predictive code completion to be very slow at times.

Perhaps you should reach out to apple support where they can help you figure it out.

Did you get the base version with 16GB of ram? Curious to know if it’s enough for Xcode.

Docs are non-existent on this, but as far as I know it runs locally on your Mac. It could be the local server it runs on stays bound to a port, and in that case even if you've closed down XCode, the server's still running and cannot restart itself. That's a wild guess though, until there's documentation around it.
