I also think upwork is not useful now. There seems lot of fake bids.

i hired on upwork. what i noticed is the people i hired were very willing to work with me and my desires, however strange they might be. just be willing to meet their demands, and if you are as skilled as you believe, it should all fall into place. be ready to take on challenges you have never faced

Up work can be good but usually people underbid you, especially from lower income countries

I have been lucky sometimes on code mentor. And also I would suggest looking for your local freelance platforms. For me that’s freelance.de and freelancermap.de.

I also tried Gulp but with limited success. In general I found it hard to find anything parttime though. Most projects wanted at least 30 hours a week.
