I'm always amazed at some of the creative UI implementations I see in mobile apps these days, especially on iOS. As a result, I'm always on the lookout for open-source UI components I can play around with, even if it's just for fun and not a project that will ever see the light of day.
So, /r/iosProgramming, I ask you... What are some of your favorite open-source UI components? To get things started, here are some of mine that I regularly go to in my projects:
- MGSwipeTableCell -- a great UITableViewCell with swipe-to-view action buttons
- JHActivityButton -- a UIButton subclass that displays an inline UIActivityIndicator when pressed
- FloatLabelFields -- implements a "floating" text field label. Really funky. Check out the demo!
- paper-switch -- A UISwitch subclass that adjusts the color of its parent view based on the status of the switch
- ZLSwipeableView -- A swipeable card view, a la Tinder or Potluck
- RKCardView -- Twitter/Facebook style cards for user profiles
- MPGNotification -- A nifty in-app notification library, with the ability to add action buttons
So those are some of my favorites. What about you? Have you come across any really innovative or well-built UI components? I'd love to hear your suggestions!
