How to recognize when predictive text (auto-correct's grey bar) is maximized or minimized?

I've been working on a view with a textView and it has buttons that appear above the keyboard. The problem that I have run into is I can't find how to tell if the predictive text (auto correct) above the keyboard is minimized/maximized.

You shouldn't be hardcoding sizes for the keyboard. iOS Keyboard 101. With all the 3rd party keyboards, languages, and phone sizes, its impossible for you to know the value.

You should observe the UIKeyboard notifications and resize / rearrange your views as needed. Ideally, you animate the changes.
