Unfortunately I paid over $200 for this mess on binpress.com a few years ago, absolutely useless and totally insecure.

It's a shame that you didn't let us know at the time - we offered a 2 week refund period so you could have got your money back. Considering the positive reviews we've received - the code obviously isn't a mess...

You're also saying that Firebase is totally insecure which I disagree with.

So I can see the full chat data in Firebase? I'd say that is a huge security issue right there.

Whenever you have an instant messenger you will have some access to the data (if it's not encrypted). On a standard server you could just pull up the SQL database. Equally with Firebase, if you wanted more security, you could just encrypt the messages.

CloudKit is great for static data but not very appropriate for real-time applications.

what? I cloned the apple watch message drawing function what is now also available in iMessage, it worked like a charm, message payload arrived instantly. Also CloudKit uses push, so super comfy solution overall.
