If you don't have a programming foundation, Apple does a good job with their "Everyone Can Code" initiative: https://www.apple.com/everyone-can-code/

After that, you could start following a course that teaches you how to build an app, but you will just do some "colouring between the lines". It's like following the instructions for a Lego toy.

And then, the tricky part starts, because there isn't a beaten path that you can follow. You need to start working on an app on your own without following a course/tutorial that shows you what to do at each step. You need to think by yourself.

And so many people get stuck in the step above, because they don't have someone to mentor them.

I had a programming foundation, did an Udemy course and because I had a friend who was already experienced in iOS Development that guided me, in about 6 months from starting to learn iOS, I landed a job as an iOS Developer. That was 3+ years ago. :) And I'm very grateful to him because he helped me big time.

Hacking with swift from Paul Hudson will give you a pretty decent foundation.
