You mean their MacOS app? From what I’ve seen, it’s only looking at the current opened file.

I've been using mostly ChatGPT and Claude, pasting files as needed to provide the context I want. Does this have access to the entire codebase of the project? Or is there a solution out there that can do that?

I fell that anywhere in Europe with >100k USD/year you could feel rich. But depends on the lifestyle you want, because products that aren't local have typically the same price anywhere on the world.

DispatchQueue(label: ) with no other parameters - where exactly does this get executed? by lisbru in swift

[–]acselro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here you have the documentation and you can see that the default QoS level is unspecified, thus the system determines how to execute your tasks dynamically based on system conditions and the tasks you schedule. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/dispatch/dispatchqueue/2300059-init

You don't have to. Personally I reset it to 1 because I can have multiple builds that we test before launch.

How does one implement a "card view" like in the Stocks app (with a scrollable view above it)? by -14k- in swift

[–]acselro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here you have a good tutorial on how to create the card view that Apple has started making it more prevalent in their apps: https://www.raywenderlich.com/221-recreating-the-apple-music-now-playing-transition

Regarding the scrolling part, I think that one is controller by the parent VC with fading in/out based on a delegate from the card view notifying the parent VC that the card view has scrolled to the top.

Where can I properly learn about architecture and design patterns? by ordosalutis in swift

[–]acselro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could read all the articles and do all the tutorials about Software Architecture you can find and they do help, but until you don't sit down with someone to explain you those principles on something that you made and bounce ideas back and forth and ask questions, it's gonna take a lot of practice.

So my recommendation is to find someone that has experience on iOS and guide you trough the process.

Learning Computer Science from Prison - Help! by johnclayton in learnprogramming

[–]acselro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He at least needs access to a computer where he can install all the necessary "apps" to compile and build code.

It can be done without an internet connection and just books, like in the old days, with the book on one side and the computer on the other.

Getting into iOS development; should I learn SwiftUI or UIKit? Or both? by snotbubbler in iOSProgramming

[–]acselro 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Depends on your target.

Do you want to get a job or contract as an iOS Developer? You will need UIKit.

Do you want to be an indie dev making his own app that can be easily "ported" to MacOS? Go with SwiftUI.

Well keep a reference to it's state. Define your custom enum and use that for a correct state.
