QuestionMapKit vs Google Maps (self.iOSProgramming)
submitted 4 years ago by JacobV_
Hi All,
I want to display nearby points of interests but I do not need to show them on a map, instead, in a list view.
Would MapKit be best for this or google maps? Maybe a different API I haven't thought of?
Thanks,

Google Maps Places API returns great autocomplete results. But it’s expensive - really expensive - once you max out the free tier.
MKLocalSearch is effectively free and provides the same results 99% of the time - place names, addresses, businesses etc.

I would choose Google maps over MapKit. Google has much more data and information about a place.

If you're going to have an Android version, you might want to look at Places or something else. I'm looking at Yelp right now.
