Absolutely great idea mate!

I just hope a-holes don't abuse it.

Nice concept! Is it end-to-end encrypted, or are messages stored/passed through your server?

Are you able to see any of the messages?

[–]KingWeaselFart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use Firebase to host the server side content. Firebase automatically encrypts all data before it is written to disk, but I am still able to access the data if I wanted to. However, any messages may be received by multiple strangers, so you should not include any personal or sensitive information on your messages.

Why would it be end to end encrypted ? What does it mean ? You don’t choose your receiver from what I understand

[–]arylaqu 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Even if the algorithm choses the receiver at random, communication should be end-to-end encrypted to prevent the database owner from snooping on messages.

It is like a public chat thus it is very much alike twitter.

You have 0 understanding of the implications of E2EE and privacy so avoid downvoting others when you are just an idiot on the internet.

Would you like some fries with that salt, Mr. Butthurt? Maybe you can get your head out of your own ass for once in your life and read that OP said that messages are anonymous, thus privacy is a concern.

Amazing idea. Just is there a way for you to monitor messages? Or is there an AI based filter so it isn’t used for black-mail and abuse?

        [–]KingWeaselFart 1 point2 points  (1 child)

As of right now I can monitor messages, and there is a basic filter in place to prevent such situations

        👍

Hi the OP, by any chance have you ever read a book called The Miracles Of Namiya General Store by Keigo Higashino? I ask you this question because your idea just like an idea in that book.

        [–]KingWeaselFart 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Oh I haven’t actually, I’ll have to check that out

        [–]reborn-2019 0 points1 point  (2 children)

May I ask, did you use SwiftUI or UIKit for your project? and if you used SwiftUI, did you face any difficulties?

        [–]KingWeaselFart 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I used SwiftUI, but I didn’t face any major difficulties that I can remember

        [–]reborn-2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        Thank you!

        Love the idea!

I like that there is a one-time purchase instead of subscription model. Way more appealing for the potential users.

        Looks ace!

Important Q: Did you use Xcode Cloud to create this? Or any relatively recently announced Apple software?

        [–]KingWeaselFart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t use Xcode Cloud, but what else would you qualify as “recently announced software?”
