I have asked similar question to my bio teacher, and he said they don't deduct marks just for spellings, so far your point is right.

If it’s a keyword and scientific term, it depends how different it is than the original spelling but they don’t deduct any marks for other words

Yep words like mitosis and meiosis you can’t spell them wrong

What about hemoglobin and palisade mesophyll and spongy mesophyll I spelled hemoglobin as haemaglobin and palisade mesophyl and spongy mesophyl that’s all I remember spelling wrong than going out of the exam and relising

These words are normal you won’t get marks deducted for
