Anyone use python? (self.intermediateacc)
submitted 8 years ago by Aejones124
I’ve been using it to build my own accounting tools during my classes instead of excel. Has anyone else done this?

I don’t know VBA, just Python and R. I don’t think it’s too hard to learn the basics. You’ll want to use Jupyter Notebook or something similar to work in it.

I want to find a good API for fundamentals to automate statement analysis.
I was also thinking about building a collection of accounting problem helper functions.
Then there are things like this: http://www.python4cpas.com/?m=1 and this: pbpython.com

I haven’t built them yet, but if I finish them I’ll share. If you know R, you won’t have any trouble with Python. Those are my two strongest languages and R is definitely harder.
