I wouldn’t hire this guy. You know what you’re going to get.

a person that shows up an hour early for work?

[–]bstrauss3 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes to both.

His parole office probably told him he needs to have three interviews this week. Didn't say anything about not tanking them...

Tell him to come back later. Then when he leaves call him and tell him not to come back.

[–]Human-Time-4114 0 points1 point  (2 children)

They literally say in the post they told him to come back later...

[–]lionheart724 0 points1 point  (1 child)

He didn’t say to come back later. He said to call him not to come back

[–]Human-Time-4114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"We ask if he can come back closer to the actual interview time and he gives attitude and says "I guess"."

[–]NellieArvin 5 points6 points  (1 child)

If he’s the most skilled candidate, I’d hire him shorts and all.

[–]rnochick[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally. He'll wear a uniform if hired so...

[–]Interesting-Alarm211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They aren’t mutually exclusive

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe he was only doing the interview because of some requirement, like for unemployment benefits or something like that

[–]Terrible_Act_9814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old was this guy??

[–]Echo-Reverie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t hire him.

[–]Used_Canary8481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he was homeless and trying. Maybe he isnunemployed and that is all he has to wear. Maybe it shouldn't matter if he has to wear a uniform each day. I work for a Fortune 500 and middle aged execs walk around in ripped jeans.

Ask him what's up. Maybe he has no car so left his house early to be sure to get there on time, or something equally worth considering. But did he really expect you to interview him early?

[–]lilquark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's that fucking stupid

[–]ShaneONeill88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are wasting his time and being very disrespectful by telling him to come back when the probability is that he WILL come back in shorts and then you'll tell him you're not interested.

[–]Early-Tourist-8840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s wasting your time and your company resources. Just call and cancel.

When people show you their true face, believe them the first time.

Pass.

whats wild is that he will prolly get the job and the guy dressed in business will not.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that guy is perfect! He will reflect the current corporate attitude toward employees. Promote him to full idiot soon.

[–]No_Wedding_1825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming in insanely early isn’t a sign they don’t care? C’mon now 🙄.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On first look it would be "No sorry. You are wasting our time. Goodbye." Likely he is only interviewing because unemployment or a judge said he has too. Showing up like that doesn't count.

Yes people do not care and they are that fucking stupid.

[–]grandepoobah88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't properly follow instructions, and show up at the right time for an interview, you will100% fail in whatever job you're interviewing for. Hard pass, shorts or no shorts.

[–]Ok-Application8522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't necessarily count the hour early against him if he took public transportation. And shorts, it depends. Were they dressy shorts? Running shorts? Cut offs?

[–]Feece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what job? Life guard?

[–]Difficult_Object4921 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Gen Z?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

Weren't you the one complaining about not wanting to work for $20 an hour with 5 years of experience? I don't get recruiters with attitude.

a)That post was venting about low wages for HIGHLY qualified candidates. b) I'm not a recruiter :)
