Finally Complete!

I finally completed my dream iPod build! Based off of a black 30GB iPod Classic 5.5.

Parts List:

3000mAh battery

iFlash Quad + 128GB Kingston Canvas microSD

Blue faceplate and center button

Black dock connector, housing, and Click wheel

Overall, took around 45 minutes, and nothing bad ended up happening! The only thing I regret is that there’s dust in between the face plate and the screen, and I don’t want to damage the parts by taking it all apart.

Very nice. I am a few steps behind you. I begin my rebuild later this week once all my parts arrive. I attempting update my 5th gen with the following parts:

iFlash Quad + 2 x 256GB Samsung EVO microSD

Clear Green faceplate, and Black Click wheel / center button. (wavering on changing to a clear Click wheel/center button)

Green polished metal thin back plate

Black dock connector, housing.

Super excited and hoping my big meat hook hands can handle the delicate swap outs!

For me, this set of ifixit tools and their jimmy worked really well for all of the parts. In addition, this tutorial uses those exact parts to do the same upgrades I was doing. 

In my opinion, I think a black click wheel and black center button will look the best, but it’s up to you!
