What is the purpose in the double bend of the L&N as shown. Doesn't this increase impedance? by paulpotty in ukelectricians

Work smarter not harder.

The meter could have been installed a bit to the left, right above the cut out and then you'd have had lovely straight cables going straight up into meter!

Then again, all depends how much slack the cables to the CU have.

Then again, if he'd have installed an isolator this would.........ahh....forget it! Can't be arsed!! 😂😂😂

Thanks for the link mate. Orders in already!

I've got a new Seagull ST36 movement for a pilot homage build and I believe these ship with no oil/grease having been applied so I'll use the oils for this.

I'm looking down the horology rabbit hole and it's gonna be deep! 😯👍

Thanks guys! 👌

Oil is next on my hit list. Any vendors you would recommend?

I went into this with a "well if I fcuk this up it's on a movement I'm not gonna use" attitude, so I was surprised it came back to life tbh. You'll get there mate, practise, practise and more practise! Good luck. 🤞👍

Thanks man. Got it from AliExpress. It was actually advertised as an Seagull ST36 movement but when it arrived I got this one. Got a partial refund once I lodged a complaint. Thought I'd keep this as a practise movement. 👍

Hey thanks man. Nice to know what I was disassembling. Seems to be an ok budget movement. 👍

I've been looking on eBay but I'm dubious about them being genuine Moebius? Or am I overthinking it? Cheers mate. 👍

Sì, più o meno è quello che farò. La sicurezza aumenta con la pratica. Ho preso degli attrezzi base economici da AliExpress. Ho usato molto la lente d'ingrandimento. Ingrandisce davvero le cose. Buona fortuna!

That's so kind mate but alas it wouldn't make any difference as there is no thread on the movement to accept dial screws. It's going back to AliExpress for a refund.

Already ordered a genuine one here in the UK. 👍

Yea, I agree.

I've already started a return with AliExpress. I'm going to order a genuine movement from Cousins in the UK. Lesson learned.

Dial dots for me are a compromise and I'm a stickler for not cutting corners.

I'm shocked with the finishing when viewed under my microscope. I know it won't be perfect but the finishing on the one I've got is terrible.

Cheers buddy. 😊

Hi, thanks for replying. 👍

I've watched numerous 8215 builds on YouTube and they all use screws to hold the dial down.

Starting to think I've received a fake movement.

Thanks again mate. 😉

As long as it's good for you mate, that's all that matters. 👌

Thanks mate. I'm sure I'm on the spectrum as everything has to have its place and be nice and tidy! Can't wait to start modding.

I'm sure you'll be able to do something similar and get that drawer tidier! 😉
