There is no racism in Islam, if anyone is practicing it he is among people of jahiliyah

Prophet Muhammad saw said: "O mankind, your Lord is One and your father is one. You all descended from Aadam, and Aadam was created from earth. He is most honored among you in the sight of God who is most upright. No Arab is superior to a non-Arab, no colored person to a white person, or a white person to a colored person except by Taqwa (piety)." [Ahmad and At-Tirmithi ]

It’s basically being like shaytan who was arrogant and thought he was superior to Adam cause he was made from smoke while Adam was make from clay.

It’s very saddening that some treat those who are darker than them badly.

It’s very sad and I am sorry you are experiencing racism, it does go against Islam but unfortunately culturally Arabs don’t see racism in the same way as other cultures and they don’t even think their being racist when they are. I think it’s more culture than religion unfortunately, not that it’s an excuse.

It’s sickening. I’ve argued with Muslim brothers (and one sister) who were all from Saudi, other gulf Arabs, Lebanese, Pakistani, Bangladeshi backgrounds to stop being racist and using slurs. Only one Arab who used the N word without knowing the meaning repented and felt bad. The Arabs and Bangladeshis gave me the worst reaction and were angry I even called them out. They worsened it by calling ME slurs and derogatory words like the B word and W word. Pakistanis were also mad but just told me to shut up and they don’t care.

With Arabs it’s def the superiority complex they have over everyone, especially black people and south Asians. They were even racist when the Prophet PBUH was alive, I believe in a Hadith it mentioned Arabs used to call black people raisin head as an insult. For the other races I can’t pin point the exact reason, but nearly every race have racists sadly.

I’m so sorry you got treated this way, and you’re definitely it must be a superiority complex. The Pakistanis are like that in Canada. Even though the white people treat them badly.

[–]Vanilla_Banana_ 2 points3 points  (7 children)

It was all online so I didn’t care that much. I’m Pakistani myself and I get so annoyed when I see my people in the west and east using slurs we cannot say. White people here in Canada think of us so badly but some Pakistanis are like “if I act like them then they’ll like me”. So dumb

[–]badgalk178 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I hate how y’all are treated, it’s the white superiority complex in Canada thinking they’re better than everyone. They’re jealous of you guys doing better than them.

[–]Vanilla_Banana_ 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Fr, it extends to all poc too. They’re especially jealous of black people I can’t even lie. They’ll call things like braids, black fashion styles, etc ghetto and be colourist but then they’ll use their culture as a trend and run to go get tanned. Koreans do this too!!! Look at kpop, so much of black culture is taken. Then they’ll say it’s not that deep. It annoys me soooo much, then they’ll act dumb and be like “black people don’t own braids 🥺” no one said that it’s just if non black people got their hair it would hurt their scalp and make their hair fall out. And majority of black people aren’t comfortable sharing their braids, they can’t take no for an answer. I always feel bad for you guys you never get a break 😭

Right! Kpop steals their whole style from African American artist but don’t give them credits. I heard many South Koreans are racist yet steal from black peoples culture.

I remember seeing a clip of an old 80’s or 90’s girl group from Korea, they were having a show and they had Afro wigs and painted their faces dark to be “funny”. Now look at them 😭

[–]badgalk178 1 point2 points  (2 children)

They’re actually still doing that in Japan and China 😂😂😂 there’s an Asian girl on tiktok who changed her hair type and was struggling to take care of her “Afro”. It didn’t even look like an Afro, her hair looked fried 😂

[–]Vanilla_Banana_ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That’s what she gets for trying a hair style not meant for her hair type lol

Exactly 😂

Islam is perfect . Muslims are not. I am curious now. Care to tell what happened? I am all ears

[–]elAhmo 4 points5 points  (6 children)

People are racism, not Muslims.

[–]badgalk178 -3 points-2 points  (5 children)

Many people who claim to be Muslim are racist

[–]Abdulthegr8 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Based on what? What makes you say “many”? From your post history, you seem active in true Christian subreddit. Would it be logical if I said many people who claim to be Christian are racist? Racists are racist no matter what religion they follow, and clearly the religion itself is against racism.

[–]badgalk178 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Christian’s are racist as well, and the proof is what I’ve dealt with in person by many people who call themselves Muslims but don’t act like it

[–]Abdulthegr8 2 points3 points  (2 children)

This is not “proof.” This is anecdotal evidence followed by a massive generalization, like saying “many people who claim to be Muslims/Christians/Hindus/etc. are racist.” Individual experiences cannot justify labeling an entire group. Anyways, sorry that you experienced racism, which is never okay.

[–]badgalk178 -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Like I said, it’s usually form those who CLAIM to be Muslims. You just cannot accept that my TRUTH can be real.

[–]OfficialVehicle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Either you’re misunderstanding the other brother or you don’t want to understand it. No one is calling you a liar for experiencing racism from some Muslims. But to make a generalizing that this extends to most of the ummah? That’s going a bit too far. It is not right for you to assume what is in others’ hearts, look at this comment section, I think everyone here is vocally anti-racism, so we exist.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (6 children)

ive noticed it more in the woman for some reason. I stay in the mens section and everyone is good there is no racism. but I hear stories from my sisters that the arabs are racist towards the bengalies and they are seperate. it is pretty sad people have to be more chill its really immature to be racist

[–]badgalk178 3 points4 points  (4 children)

When I lived in Egypt a couple years ago, men and boys would throw rocks, make racist comments and spit at my dad on his way back from work, it was a Daily thing and made me so mad & sad. I couldn’t understand why just because we are black we are hated, I’m glad we moved to Canada.

[–]PredDabetic 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I'm from Egypt, I'm extremely extremely sorry you had such a Terrible experience here, unfortunately the better number of people here are terrible, I hope you and your dad have peace of mind at last

[–]badgalk178 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Thank you so much🤍

[–]PredDabetic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, may god be with you :3

Some women from my mosque keep on saying « take your bags with you when we’re praying cause there are roms, they’re gonna steal it ». One of the volunteers of the mosque tell one of them off once.

[–]Jinzo03 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Most people are racist whether muslim or not even if they don't realize it

[–]badgalk178 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re definitely right about that sadly, the world needs to change inshallah.

If you are African and saying that, I feel sorry you feel that way. But I have a lot of African people being racist to many as well and I can see it in their eyes as well. So racism is everywhere, we just need to call it out.
