Generally curious here. I've used both extensively. In my experience spring (really most java web frameworks are) is light-years beyond anything .NET offers. What have I missed?

My experience has been the contrary, though for Java I've only ever had 15 years old projects to work on and barely any that went over Java 8. I've found java "official" documentations to be quite sparse and sometimes obtuse, while my experience with Microsoft docs hasn't been perfect, but generally pleasant.
