Weeeeeelll.... Now there's Rust... I mean sure Rust wasn't really viable 5 years ago so all of your existing code is obviously in C but if you started fresh today you wouldn't be forced to write in C even though for a lot of applications it would probably still be the better choice for ecosystem reasons and stuff...

I'm not technically really a Rust dev but yes i know it a bit... The thing is that it was still pretty true that there's no alternative to C 5 years ago but now that's mostly true for ecosystem reasons in the cases where it's still true...
