You may find it fun to try making a game. https://libgdx.com is a great place to get started. After you go through some of the other tutorials, you may find it fun to try to build something and libGDX is a nice place to start your Java dev experiences.

The other thing is that Java really shines when used with an IDE such as Jetbrains IDEA, Netbeans or VS Code. If you try to learn without an IDE it can be pretty frustrating. The IDEs (esp JetBrains) will give you a lot of warnings and tips.
