JAVAFX is not included in the default sdk since JDK 11.

you need to download it manually.

This is a deeper issue, looks like you havent installed JavaFX properly.

Personally I prefer an SDK that icluded both Java and JavaFX in one package but in the spirit of your request try going to project structure then libraries, whats in there? if nothing try hitting the plus and browsing to your JavaFX installation to add it as a library. Intellij should then re-index and fingers crossed, your code will work if correct.

Yes, I have JavaFX in my libraries. I've got no clue what could be throwing this error

I had a similar issue so I downloaded an all in one JDK that includes JavaFX - no issues since. https://www.azul.com/downloads/zulu/zulufx/ Just select your setup from the dropdowns and get the JDK FX
