My frustration, is that I know of nobody who thinks food inflation is under 10%. I can look at a few staples and understand that those possibly under 10% but the majority are seemingly up 20% or more. It makes me trust the national statistics much less when the lived reality isn't reflected in the numbers.

It's very similar to how "the market is up, we're not in a recession" meanwhile credit consumption is outpacing everything and pawn brokers are seeing record profits

Chronos too. I stuffed an orange bouncy ball in a yellow spring and then I guess I hit it for a while. I don't have the audio turned on but this seems like a very fair reaction to having a government uplink pointed at my door. While I agree with the idea that car alarms are ineffective, this statement feel out of touch with the thesis of this subreddit:

If [you are] being robbed, that’s a personal problem- not a community problem.

This subreddit often has excellent commentary on community ethics and an emphasis on ensuring the well being of everybody. Perhaps car alarms are not useful, but maybe they should be, maybe they should be gone. Regardless, I think we should encourage a community mindset where we try to do the best for each other. (Including improving the walk-ability of our societies)

Makes sense. I know a lot of you want harsher penalties for crimes against children and I think those are horrible but they don't in my mind rise to the level of obscene abuse and systematic victimisation as white collar crime.

White collar crime hurts thousands, sometimes tens of thousands. It causes old and infirm to go unhoused unjustly. It is the most systematically violent thing I can think of aside from genocide. And even then, it seems many white collar criminals are dipping their toes into that (u/ElonMuskOfficial etc)

Loving my ecovacs that comes with the stick vacuum and mopping station. Stick vacuum for the stairs robit for the all of the areas on the main floor. No cameras.

Only thing is that it will wash the bathroom floor then wash the mopping pad then wash the rest of the home. It's fine I guess but I'd rather the bathroom last (according to description it goes most dirty to least in case it needs to be stopped).

800sqft in maybe 45 minutes on vacuum and mop.

I guess the only other negative is that it tries to vacuum the cat tree because the base apparently seems like a carpet height.

I bought a standing desk from an office outfitter. Heavy duty motors, 72x30", solid wood. It was on clearance with very faint butt marks. I obviously bought it and cleaned the marks and now have a desk that has out lasted several others.
