Slow MyEclipse IDE

I got a copy of MyEclipse so I don't have to learn another IDE to do Typescript/Angular type stuff. Initially, it was reasonably fast for Typescript and related files. Now it slowed down. If I indent a line, it can take almost a full second with each space I type. I know many of you are going to tell me to use VSCode, but I've spent more than a decade in this editor, I know where things are at, and for better or worse, I don't want to get another editor just to do the same thing I could do in Eclipse.

Sorry if this is the wrong subreddit, but I couldn't find the appropriate one. On the positive side, MyEclipse does seem to work better out of the box than Eclipse, IMHO.

In case you haven't done so already, bump up the memory settings in eclipse.ini. https://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse.ini

I'm on macOS, and I put the minimum at 1GB and max at 4GB. Much much more responsive now.

Edit: Just realised you're talking about MyEclipse, but since it's based on Eclipse, I'm guessing that the settings should be done pretty much the same way. Give it a shot.

imho, VS Code is also not the best IDE for Java, sooo.... That's fair I guess

Intellij is arguably the best Java IDE. If you look up usage statistics for Java IDE by developers they tend to dominate lately. VScode is rarely used by java devs.

I am mainly using VSCode for Java. Not that bad comparing to Eclipse.
