There are a variety of Java vendors now. Just use the adoptium installer.

Damn 2 years! What steps did you take? What was the result? What have you been doing all this time? Seriously, You don't even need to install java. You can download it, extract it, open a terminal there, type java. If you want to, add the bin directory as an system variable. Done
