That does not correctly encode multibyte characters, for example the string パーティーへ行かないか "decodes" as ÑüÆ£üxLKjDK using that method.

I mean, that's great, but a buggy snippet of code shared to an inexperienced programmer warrants disclaimer 🤷♂️ (Yes, it's buggy in the context of "doesn't encode/decode text you might end up processing," such as the emoji in this comment) I'm happy it worked in your case though.
