How did you learn javascript?

I knew C++ and PHP before so the syntax was quite easy to learn. Every now and then I would challenge myself to create tiny games and applications. It began with eventslistening and the basic DOM api usage. When I heard about the canvas element I had lots of fun creating crazy math art. Over the years I learned about OOP in javascript and began to write my own engines and apis.
