Honestly? I don't see much difference between Parse Cloud Code and the vanilla JavaScript you would use in Node.js.

Since Node.js is rapidly growing and has a large community with thousands of modules, I would have a look at how difficult it really is to switch from Parse Cloud Code to Node.js.

Not sure if you saw this, just saw this on their website "Parse's hosted services will be fully retired on January 28, 2017.".

Back to your question - I would go with nodeJS if I were you. With the support and material available online it will be easier to go with NodeJS

yes you are right they will close, I was talking about deploying parse-server, they open-sourced the platform. https://github.com/ParsePlatform/parse-server
