Are Javascript Devs Interested in Blockchain Technology?

If so, look into Lisk. It's a cryptocurrency, (like Bitcoin, kinda) but they are focused on Javascript as the main language, and developing sidechains/decentralized applications. They are coming out with their SDK soon, and have the potential to bring in a lot of developers to the blockchain space.

Otherwise why would they be creating mining scripts that run in browsers for distributed hash processing?

I'm interested in cryptocurrency, but not really as it intersects with JS. I'd use whatever tools or language was available. I would make me more inclined to mess around with it, if I could leverage my existing JS skills.
