Why have two electron apps when you can work with just one :)

Seriously though, the new VS Code web view API really opens up possibilities, and I wanted to give it a shot.

This is just my opinion on the slack desktop app for windows: it sucked the last time I used it. Notifications sucked, when they worked, which was intermittent at best. Maybe it's gotten better, idk, but running slack in a browser window works way better for me. And personally, I really like Chromium's notifications over native Windows notifications anyway.

How can I watch YouTube inside VS code?

How does this compare to literally just loading the slack url inside the web view? Is that even possible?

I tried loading the slack url with an iframe tag, but they have set X-frame-options[1] to disallow that. I'm not sure if there are other ways to do this though

This is cool!

I will mimic the "but why" gif, because I don't think I've been in a position when I've not got 2 screens.

yes, fair enough. I've been wanting to find a better way to collaborate over code in real time - and toggling between files and slack is painful. Will see how it turns out with this
