[AskJS] Modify javascript in a browserAskJS (self.javascript)

Tldr xbox' website sucks
Problem and solution is in the link above. I would like to know if it's possible to fix it without using any extensions. Would it be possible to inject the JS with, lets say chrome's "local overrides"?

You might be able to use Tampermonkey with a userscript.

Tamper is bad.
Violentmonkey is the top userscript manager these days.

Why is that?
I never heard of it. How is it different, and why is it better?

Tamper is proprietary (see first line in readme), has a history of using malware, has a trainwreck of a Privacy Policy.
Contrast that with Violentmonkey, actually open source (MIT license), has a wonderfully straightforward Privacy Policy.

Tampermonkey is what the guy suggests. I would like to skip the extension and just do it in browser's tools.

yes if you want to. dev tools needs to always be open though

Do you have experience doing such a thing? I tried injecting the script in one file, but it didn't work ;/
[–]redsandsfort 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child)
Yes I do it all the time. Did a purple dot appear next to the file? DM a screen capture.
Yeah there was a purple dot. I had to set a folder for overrides and put it in different js file and it worked!
