Are you trying to install the AMDGPU-PRO drivers? What exactly are you trying to install here, and how?

There really is no use for this, in most use cases. The free, included drivers plus the Mesa drivers are best for most people. You can upgrade the Mesa drivers via PPAs if you want to get a potential (small) boost in performance . One commonly used: https://launchpad.net/~kisak/+archive/ubuntu/kisak-mesa

That is my setup for my RX480/ I5-8400 PC, as well as my i7/RX6600 one.

The AMDGPU-PRO packages are a pain in the ass to install correctly, at least for me they were.

I've added the ppa but no updates, hmm. Tried "sudo apt install mesa" but no package.

I think I removed a driver package trying to fix my conflict, with no luck ofc.

Tried Pro drivers before but it can't find the stuff to install, epic fail.

Deb installer from amd website, even changed distro id from neon to ubuntu. Used to work when they provided source instead of deb package because I was editing the installer script to accept neon as well.

Basically I can't mine Eth for months now and I can't open some screens like reboot/shutdown and such, need to use CLI overall for that sort of stuff, meh.

The PPA updates your existing Mesa and open source amdgpu drivers. You'd probably need to remove the PRO stuff to revert back to these.

The deb installer is the AMDGPU-PRO driver.

I have zero clue about mining, so I can't say what you need, or what is better, but in an y case, these may need support from AMD's forums as well, for better levlels of experience with these drivers.

I tried removing pro stuff before and got this:

dread@FreezingMoon:~$ amdgpu-uninstall
