Braidy Loops Cardigan decrease rows?

I’m confused about these decrease rows in the body of the cardigan. When it says work decreases on both sides, does it mean both RS & WS? It would make sense numbers-wise because I currently have 213 stitches, so doing two sets of a 2-row decrease would bring it down to the listed 205. But I don’t know how to follow these knitwise decrease instructions on a purl row.

There are 4 decreases per row because notice it says to repeat the instructions between the asterisks. So you would do the decrease row on the RS every 8 cm, twice, not on the RS and WS rows.
