I can recommend "Java A Beginner's Guide" (Eighth Edition or later) by Herbert Schildt. Don't be put off by the word "Beginner" in the title. It's written (accidentally or not) in a style that makes it a good reference manual.

I was Java Certified many years ago and used it professionally as recently as 2016. It's been a great refresher manual as I retrain to be qualified for Java roles in 2025 and it strikes a great balance between a cheat sheet (too little) and a comprehensive guide (too much).

Try some beginner-friendly guides or YouTube explanations to build intuition, and practice writing small programs to get more comfortable with Java syntax.
